📄 SlideSnap Terms of Service

Effective Date: June 30, 2026

Thank you for using SlideSnap.

SlideSnap is a speech, meeting, and note-capture application (available on iOS, Android, and the Web) operated by an independent developer (the "Operator", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using SlideSnap, you ("you" or "User") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use SlideSnap.

1. The Service

SlideSnap provides:

  • Speech and meeting capture (audio recording, in-room photo capture)
  • Speech-to-text transcription (ASR)
  • AI-generated summaries (concise 3-sentence and full Markdown forms)
  • AI-generated images and slide decks
  • Rich-text notes with tag management
  • Review and revision tools

SlideSnap is intended for personal and lawful business use. Specialized commercial redistribution (e.g. wrapping SlideSnap output into a paid resale product) requires our prior written authorization.

2. Intellectual Property

You acknowledge that we own all intellectual property in SlideSnap itself (including patents, copyrights, trade secrets, and trademarks).

You agree not to:

  • Modify, adapt, or translate the SlideSnap software
  • Decompile, reverse engineer, or disassemble to obtain source code
  • Create derivative works of the SlideSnap software
  • Remove or alter copyright or trademark notices
  • Bypass security mechanisms in SlideSnap or its third-party dependencies

Copyright in the content you create remains yours (recordings, photos, original notes, AI-generated summaries / images / slides). You grant us a limited license to store and process this content on our servers solely to provide the Service to you.

3. Acceptable Use

3.1 Software Use

You agree not to:

  • Use unauthorized plug-ins, cheats, or third-party tools that interfere with the Service
  • Use SlideSnap for any activity that compromises network security
  • Reverse engineer or disassemble to obtain source code
  • Create accounts in bulk through automated means
  • Simulate user behavior through scripts or bots

3.2 Content Standards

You agree not to upload, generate, or distribute content that:

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction
  • Infringes the intellectual property or privacy of others
  • Contains hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that incites violence
  • Depicts or promotes sexual exploitation of minors
  • Constitutes commercial spam or unsolicited advertising
  • Facilitates fraud, money laundering, theft of trade secrets, or other illegal acts

We may remove content and suspend or terminate your account, without prior notice, if you violate these rules.

3.3 AI-Generated Content

  • AI output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Review it before acting on it.
  • You may not use AI features to generate content prohibited under §3.2.
  • You are solely responsible for how you use, share, or distribute AI-generated content.

3.4 Recording Compliance

When using recording features, you must comply with the laws of your jurisdiction:

  • Some jurisdictions (e.g. certain US states, EU member states under GDPR) require all-party consent before recording a conversation. You are responsible for obtaining any consent the law requires.
  • Do not record in any location where recording is prohibited (e.g. courts, certain workplaces, classified facilities).
  • Do not use SlideSnap to violate another person's privacy or to misappropriate trade secrets.

3.5 Data Storage

  • We will not share your content with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Ensure all content you upload is lawful and that you have the right to upload it.
  • Do not share a single account across multiple individuals. Each user must create their own account.

3.6 Quotas

  • Free users: 1 project per day
  • PRO subscribers: 10 projects per day
  • Storage and credit quotas as displayed in the app

4. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how we use it. Key points:

  • We collect only what is needed to provide the Service.
  • Data is stored with Supabase (US and other regions), isolated per-user via Row-Level Security.
  • You may export or delete your data, or close your account, at any time.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

If you subscribe to a paid plan:

  • Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe, in accordance with the platform's billing terms.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
  • You may cancel anytime through your platform's subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
  • Refunds are handled by the relevant platform (Apple, Google, or Stripe) under their refund policies.

6. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable advance notice of material changes through in-app notification or email.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • You are responsible for losses arising from your device, network, or third-party service failures.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or damages, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Third-Party Services

SlideSnap integrates with Supabase, OpenAI, RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe, and other third-party services. Disputes arising from those services are subject to their respective terms and are resolved between you and the third party.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. Continued use of the Service after the revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall be brought in the courts of Hong Kong, except that you may bring small-claims actions in your local jurisdiction where required by law.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder will continue in effect.
